Neil set up the Neil Broom Cricket Academy (NBCA) in 2018. He is passionate about the game of Cricket and realised that with his experience and in-depth knowledge of the game, he had so much he wanted to pass on to the next generation of Cricketers.

Neil loves being able to teach all the fundamentals that have been io the game for decades, but he is also passionate about upskilling his athletes on the areas needed for the modern game, in particular power hitting and dynamic fielding.

All our coaches at NBCA are either current or former Professional Cricketers. Neil believes this is why the Cricketers that come through the academy achieve so highly; They are taught by those who have experienced the game of cricket at the top level and their knowledge and understanding shines through in their coaching.

Neil also has experience with team coaching. He was the batting coach for the Otago U19 men’s side in 2023 and intends to lead the team to this year’s National tournament. Neil has recently completed the New Zealand Cricket Level 2 Advanced Development Coaching course and is currently completing the New Zealand Cricket Level 3 Performance coaching qualification.
